I think this quote means that you should be kind to everyone on your way through life because you don't know who you'll meet and how their lives are. If you are mean to everyone then no one will be nice to you and you'll have a miserable time because you have no one that likes you.

Some one I respect is my mom because she is going back to school to become a doctor. The reason I respect this is because when she does this she still drive me and my sister where we need to go and go to every marching band show even though she needs to study for her final. But she still finds a way to study because she carry around her text book and notes and studies on her down time. Lastly she still always aces her tests and quizzes.

The moral of this story is that if you make fun of some one or call them names they will think of you as a monster and probably not want to talk to you and become afraid of you.
